Behavioral Health Sales & Development Internship (Paid)

POSITION OVERVIEW

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Sales and Development Intern to join our team. This internship provides an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to gain valuable hands-on experience in sales and business development, develop key skills, and contribute to the growth of our organization among mental health crisis response organizations. The Sales Intern will work closely with our senior leadership team, learning the ropes of client engagement, relationship-building, and the intricacies of technology non-profits.

BACKGROUND

Trek Medics International is a non-profit tech organization dedicated to improving access to emergency care and transport to vulnerable and at-risk populations through innovative mobile technologies. We do this primarily through Beacon, a mobile phone-based crisis dispatching platform that allows individuals and/or response agencies to alert, coordinate and track crisis responders using any mobile device, with or without Internet. Beacon is currently used in nearly 20 countries by a wide range of emergency response agencies, including mental health crisis teams, emergency medical services, fire departments, search and rescue organizations, domestic violence advocates, and substance use and harm reduction organizations. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Prospecting and Lead Generation:
    • Conduct market research to identify potential clients and industry trends
    • Assist in generating leads through various channels, including cold calling, email outreach, and online marketing
  2. Client Engagement:
    • Support the sales team in preparing and delivering presentations to clients
    • Attend client meetings alongside senior management to observe and learn effective communication strategies
  3. Sales Support:
    • Collaborate with senior management to create and maintain sales collateral
    • Assist in the preparation of sales proposals, quotes, and contracts
  4. CRM Management:
    • Utilize our Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system to organize and track leads, opportunities, and client interactions
  5. Learning and Development:
    • Participate in ongoing training sessions to enhance sales skills and product knowledge
    • Seek feedback from the sales team to continuously improve performance
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Currently enrolled in a relevant university degree program (Business, Marketing, or related field)
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Goal-oriented with a passion for sales and building client relationships
  • Ability to work remotely, yet collaboratively, in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and familiarity with CRM software is a plus
